Almost every Indian card excludes or caps insurance hard. Infinia earns full base rate on it, capped at 10,000 points a month - the highest insurance cap in the market.
₹3,00,000 premium → 10,000 pts → ₹10,000 at SmartBuy travel (₹1/pt) = 3.3% on a category most cards pay 0% for.
🎟️ SmartBuy voucher laddering - buy your shopping money at 5X
Buy Amazon Shopping / Flipkart / Croma vouchers on SmartBuy at 5X points first, then shop with the vouchers. You earn accelerated points on spends that would otherwise earn base rate. Not the Amazon Pay gift card (GyFTR lists it as plain "Amazon"): it is an Insta Deal only - 1% off, base points. Amazon Fresh and Prime offer both; pick the Accelerated Rewards tab.
Infinia: bonus (20/₹150) sub-capped at 3,000 pts/month → full 5X on the first ₹22,500 of vouchers = 16.7% at ₹1/pt, base 3.3% beyond. Regalia Gold: 6.7% on ~₹28,000. Diners Black is now only 3X (10%) - a printed asymmetry where Regalia beats DCB on vouchers.

HDFC kills education points ONLY when paid through third-party apps (CRED, Cheq, MobiKwik). The school or college website / POS earns full points - the bank prints this distinction.
₹2,00,000/year tuition on Infinia direct → 6,666 pts → ₹6,666 at ₹1/pt vs ₹0 minus ₹2,000 fee via an app: a ₹8,666 swing.
🏨 SmartBuy hotels 10X - the number one play in India right now
Hotels booked through SmartBuy earn 10X - on Infinia that is 33% back at ₹1/pt, printed in the portal T&C with worked examples. Flights earn 5X (16.7%). This survived the Jul 2026 voucher nerf untouched.
Infinia: ₹50,000 hotel → ~15,000 pts → ₹15,000 at ₹1/pt = 33.3% (the bank T&C itself shows this example). Regalia Gold: 13.3% at ₹0.5/pt, cap exhausts near ₹16,700.
📱 iPhone at 5X via Apple Imagine Tresor on SmartBuy
Apple products bought through the SmartBuy Apple Imagine Tresor tab earn 5X - and it is a SEPARATE category from vouchers, so the 3,000-pt voucher sub-cap does not apply. Diners Black gets only 3X here.
iPhone ₹89,900 on Infinia → ~14,980 pts ≈ ₹14,980 at ₹1/pt = 16.7% back, fitting inside the 15,000 monthly cap.

The SmartBuy matrix quietly lists 10X on Pharmeasy, IGP.com and Jockey for ALL tiers - on Infinia that is 33% back on medicines, one of the strangest printed sweet spots in the market.
₹3,000/month of medicines on Infinia → 1,000 pts → ₹1,000 = 33%; ₹12,000/year of value from a chronic-prescription household.
🇮🇳 Maharaja Club 12,000-point international one-ways
The Apr 2026 Maharaja award chart cut international economy 30-59%: Singapore, Bangkok, Dubai and Bali from Delhi are flat 12,000 points one-way - cash fares of ₹16-25k, so ₹1.3-1.8 per point. HSBC feeds it 1:1; Axis premium 5:4; HDFC 2:1.
12,000 Maharaja pts vs a ₹20,000 DEL-SIN fare = ₹1.67/pt. Via HSBC 1:1 that turns 4 pts/₹100 travel spend into ~6.7% back; even HDFC at 2:1 nets ~2.8% on base spend.
🧾 Fee-waiver engineering - map big annual payments to the right bank
Every bank excludes different categories from fee-waiver spend math. The play: aim your one or two unavoidable ₹1L+ annual payments (insurance premium, school fees) at the bank where they still COUNT - usually HDFC.
A ₹3L annual premium routed to Infinia: 10,000 pts (≈₹10,000) AND ₹3L toward the ₹8L waiver - the same premium on Magnus earns zero and rescues nothing.
⏰ Transfer-bonus windows - hold stable currencies, strike in bonuses
Banks and programs run periodic transfer bonuses: Maharaja Points Fest paid up to 50% extra on bank conversions in May 2026, HSBC→Accor ran 50% in Dec 2025, Club ITC runs ~annual 10% windows on Axis. Holding points at the bank until a window opens multiplies value - but only at banks with stable menus.
Points Fest May 2026: 1,00,000 HDFC RP at 2:1 became 75,000 Maharaja pts instead of 50,000 - a free 50% on the transfer leg.
🏆 The boring backbone: board-rate coins on Infinia at 3.3%
HDFC publishes NO jewellery exclusion (rare - Axis/SBI/Kotak/HSBC/AU all pay zero on jeweller MCCs), and community practice confirms Infinia earns full 3.3% at Tanishq/Kalyan/Malabar, counting toward fee waivers. Unlimited capacity, no games: buy board-rate coins at low-premium chains.
₹1,00,000 Malabar coin → ₹3,300 in points → net ~parity to +1.6% over spot+GST. Not below parity, but unlimited and reliable.
🪔 Akshaya Tritiya / Dhanteras - when jewellery stacks 3 deep
The two gold festivals are when store making-charge offers (up to 20-35%), bank instant discounts (~5% capped), and card rewards stack. Amex carries standing jeweller tie-ups (Kalyan 35% off making on Amex vs 25% on Visa).
A ₹2L jewellery purchase: 25% off ₹30k making (₹7,500) + ₹2,500 instant discount + ₹6,600 Infinia points ≈ ₹16,600 (8%+) vs walking in on a random Tuesday.
